Fanlistings:

A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not only) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans. (from thefanlistings.org website)

This Fanlisting:

George Jung:

George Jung watched his parents struggle all his life and he made the decision that he would never be the same. It's a common enough conclusion to make, but George earned his cast fortunes by dealing in drugs on an unprecedented scale. He began in a small way; selling marijuana to his fellow beachside residents in the hedonistic California 1970's. At this point, perhaps he would have been content with the modest fortune he had earned. But first the woman he loved and planned to marry died of cancer, and then he met and befriended a dealer while in prison, who introduced him to the cocaine market that was just beginning. George quickly discovered that he had a talent for the trade. He amassed fabulous amounts of wealth and power. He married and had a daughter and lived the life that his parents could not even dream of. In the end, betrayed by his drug addicted wife and his colleagues, he descended into poverty. He lost his beloved daughter and now spends his last years in prison.

What is most attractive about George; the movie version of course, is that he never seemed to lose his sense of loyalty and generosity towards his friends and family. Even when they ultimately betrayed him. He was quick to forgive and just as quick to share everything he had. I have no personal opinion or judgement to make about the real George Jung, I leave that to others more qualified than I. In the end, he was and is a criminal and let's not forget that cocaine is a destructive thing that has ruined lives. Whatever the rights or wrongs of the whole thing, the real George is a fascinating person and Johnny Depp played him sympathetically and tenderly.
